"TURN & BURN" SUCCESS IN MIDLAND

"Jurassic Goes West" RODE into Midland with over 525 Entries and 1,680 attendies over the 3 day weekend, not including the youth and senior classes. JGW was promoted by Dooley Management Company, (Mike & Tammy Dooley) along with Stacy Jerrett who started "Jurassic Classic" in Somervell County in 1997. The JGW event paid out over $15,000.00 plus $2,000.00 added money to winners, along with 6 Jurassic Goes West Custom Made Saddles, Belt Buckles and $500 in Fuel Cards. Tammy Dooley, Vice-President, DMC was quoted as saying "This event is a Mega-Boost of Equestrian Tourism to the Midland Area. It will only continue to grow." Plans are already underway to bring JGW back to Midland in 2008. The Horseshoe Staff was superb, The dirt was perfect, and the Barrel Racers were top notch. Jurassic Goes West would like to "Thank" the great sponsors who helped make this years Barrel Race so successful.
